Ask me a question below!

I need advice and input on this news article. This crime occurred less than a mile from my home. It happened is a very rural community as is THE talk of the town. I seriously doubt there is a chance at a fair trial since the community grapevine activated before the trial.
I tots think animal cruelty is horrible and folks should get punishments. However, my concern is that the punishment is a felony, which means he loses job access, voting rights, credit, chances at higher education, and lots of other social privileges. I get this sense of prison industrial complex reeking in it. I know some folks will respond that animals are like humans and deserve protection. Yet, I worry about this analogy as lots of minorities try to distance themselves from being treated and identified as animals. I think I just worry about the repercussions of the felony level in the crime.
